Care Instructions

Keep your earrings in the box they are sent in to protect them from tarnishing or bending. For necklaces and bracelets made with chain, keep them in their box to prevent tarnishing. For necklaces made with nylon or leather cord, keep them hung to ensure they keep their shape, and don't roll them up. 

Jewelry should be the last thing you put on (after perfumes and other cosmetics) and the first thing you take off (before showering or washing your face) to maintain your jewelry long-term. 

You may wear your jewelry in the shower, but keep in mind exposing your jewelry to cosmetics or other chemicals may damage or tarnish your jewelry. Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time; gold fill jewelry will tarnish much slower. 

To clean tarnished jewelry, rub gently with a slightly damp cloth and a very small amount of a gentle soap, taking care to not get the beads themselves wet. You can also use a mixture of water, baking soda, + lemon juice for really tarnished jewelry, again being careful to clean the metal only, not the beads. After cleaning, make sure to gently cleanse with water and dry your jewelry thoroughly. Alternatively, you can use jewelry polish wipes, just be careful to not bend your jewelry or pull too hard on the chain.

Allergies to Metals

If you are allergic to the metal the earring hooks are made of, send me a message to discuss possible alternatives! I use handmade sterling silver or gold filled ear wires as a default, which are lead and nickel free. I can replace any ear wires with hypoallergenic titanium ear wires for those with severe sensitivities to metals. Please contact me to confirm I have them in stock before purchasing to prevent delays in shipping. I can also make your earrings with clip ons or change the ear wires to stud findings, so please contact me to confirm I have these in stock before purchasing as well. If shipping time is not a concern, feel free to leave a note at checkout to request the ear wire change. Thank you!

 

Gift Wrapping and Packaging

No prices are shown on the items upon delivery. All orders will be sent in a brown craft paper jewelry box with an inner cotton pad to keep the jewelry safe. Larger items will be wrapped in tissue paper to protect them. 

To further protect your items during shipping, I will re-use packing materials that I have on hand. This may include reused bubble wrap or padded mailing envelopes, recycled paper, or tissue paper. I send packages reusing packaging I have on hand to limit the amount of new packaging that I use, and to reuse plastic resources before simply throwing them away. I encourage you to find ways to further reuse the packaging you receive!

Shipping

Every package is shipped carbon neutral, and with a flat $5 rate for small orders (8oz or less). Heavier orders will be charged another $2 for shipping to account for the change in parcel weight. Sizing Details

Please confirm that the size of the jewelry is what you are looking for before purchasing! Measure your wrist, neck, or ear with a tape measure, or use a string and measure the string length. If you would like an item in a different size, please message me to discuss this before purchasing. Most items can be altered, but some one-of-a-kind pieces aren't available for resizing.

 

Custom and Personalized Orders

Most items can be made in gold filled or sterling silver, depending on personal preference. Please message me to confirm if I can make an item in another metal for you before purchasing. Depending on the type of metal chosen, the pricing may change to cover the cost of materials. 

I am not currently doing custom orders.

If you want to purchase earrings, but need clip ons or hypoallergenic titanium ear wires for sensitive ears, contact me before purchasing to confirm I have the substitute pieces in stock first! The processing time for these orders may be up to two weeks longer than normal if I have to order custom supplies (but I usually have them in stock). 

Refund Policy

We do not accept returns, however, if you experience any issues with your order, or an item broke in transit, please reach out to us at poppyjewelrydesigns@gmail.com

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. For items that broke in transit, we might be able to send a replacement on a case-by-case basis, as some items we may be unable to replace (one-of-a-kind items, some custom orders). If we are unable to send you a replacement, you will receive a full refund for the item.

If approved for a refund, you will be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
